A scientist makes a bet with his young apprentice.

The scientist says, "For every question I ask you that you don't know the answer to, you have to give me R50. But if you ask me a question that I can't answer, I will give you R500." The apprentice agrees.

The scientist asks, "How many continents are there?" The apprentice doesn't know and hands over R50.

The apprentice asks, "What animal stands on two legs but sleeps on three?"

The scientist searches hard for the answer but gives up. He reluctantly hands over the R500 and asks, "So, what was the answer to your question?"

The apprentice hands over R50.
